Philippines opens its doors to all foreign tourists starting April 1 with ease of requirements

The Department of Tourism announced last Friday, March 11 that on April 1, 2022, there will be no limit to the number of international passengers arriving in all ports of entry in the country. A very good news despite the impending crisis caused by the war in Ukraine causing a spike in oil prices and who knows what else.

And the bigger question is what is holding you back to visit the tropical island and of course the best Island in the world, Palawan and enjoy unlimited beach, unlimited nature and unlimited fun.

The announcement was made following the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to lift the quota for unvaccinated passengers in all ports of entry.

Submission of a negative laboratory-based antigen test result within 24 hours from departure is just an alternate option for arriving passengers, in place of the initial requirement of a negative result of an RT-PCR test taken 48 hours prior to departure from point of origin.

This also means that there will be a resumption of visa issuances by Philippine embassies and consulates. Latest data from the DOT show that as of March 9, 2022, the number of arrivals to the country’s main airports have reached 76,736. Of this number 43,249 are foreign tourists, while 33,487 are balikbayans.
