Palawan State University announces the opening of its Doctor of Medicine Program and open its doors to inquiries about admission and scholarships.

The Doctor of Medicine Program has been a long time dream for local Palaweños to be able to study Medicine in Palawan instead of sending their kids to Manila, Cebu and elsewhere.

Those who will be enrolled will be the pioneer class. A complete list of faculty has already been announced which includes distinguished physicians and faculty members. Their names are already submitted by the School of Medicine to the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Technical Panel for Medicine, Office of Program and Standards Development (OPSD) and CHED (Central and Regional) Officials.

This will also be the first regional medical school ever to be established in MIMAROPA Region.

PSU aims to offer an innovative integration of the basic, clinical and health systems sciences to equip aspiring Filipino physicians.

The Provincial Government of Palawan has an existing medical scholarship program for Palaweños to augment the shortage of medical doctors in the municipalities. Recently eleven of the scholars passed the latest physician licensure exams. They will be required to serve in Palawan as a condition for their scholarship.
