A lot of opportunities has been opened by the Provincial Government of Palawan (PGP) by virtue of its I-HELP EDUCATION Scholarship Program. It is not only confined to Medicine Degrees but is also available in a lot of other courses including Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Science (Medtech), Pharmacy, Nutrition and Dietetics, Radiology Technology (Radtech), Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Nursing and Midwifery.
It is common knowledge among Palaweños that there is scholarship program by the PGP for Medicine Degrees which aims to address the shortage of Medical Doctors among the municipal hospitals it has built over the years.
The Doctors will then serve a certain number of years as a kind of service in exchange for the Scholarship. We hope they will stay and serve the Palaweños as it is direly needed especially in the remote areas.
So how does one apply? One has to prepare a Letter of Intent and comply documents and send the letter to Hon. V. Dennis M. Socrates, the Provincial Governor and Attention to Ms. Maria Victoria B. Baaco, Program Manager.
We highly commend this program by the Provincial Government. One of the most important aspect of development is Human Development where the people will have opportunities to improve their situation so that they can help others in the process creating more opportunities.
