BonChon found a Home in Puerto Princesa as Queues Continue

Bonchon Chicken have found its home in Puerto Princesa. It opened its doors recently along the North National Highway infront of Hue Hotel and near Robinsons Mall. And what a raucous welcome the locals have rolled for the chicken franchise brand with queues for several days on end.

The franchise restaurant chain which originated in Busan, South Korea in 2002 has attracted many Palaweño locals with its delicious Korean unique fried chicken twist. Somehow the arrival of Korean restaurants primed us toward the day when Bonchon competes for the crowded chicken fastfood/restaurant market.

And so we were waiting for the moment when the crowds subside but eventually we decided we cannot wait and we were tempted to elbow our way inside somehow.

So what we think about its chicken? Certainly tasty and juicy the Korean kind of way. And bigger than the usual fast-food kind. We also like the pricing. The six-piece chicken is almost priced the same way as the bucket kind of the more popular brand.

Chicken war is here and chicken meat lovers have a lot of reasons to celebrate, although we hope no one will get caught on the looming chicken supply shortage.

But wait Bonchon also serve our other Korean favorites.

This Chapchae was nothing but extraordinary. We loved it. It was served as bundle menu but can also be ordered separately. And there was Ice Cream too.

Bonchon Chicken which literally mean “My Hometown” has spread internationally and has moved its headquarters in Dallas, Texas and operates in several continents. It has 136 stores in the Philippines.

Also, a lot to look forward to as KFC is set to open its doors at SM City Puerto Princesa. Credible sources also advise us that more national and international brands will be coming soon.
