Coron, Palawan, June 14, 2024—a date now infamous thanks to the hilariously chaotic antics of Rosemarie Tan Pamulaklakin and Rendon Labador. Our dynamic duo, self-styled as “Team Malakas,” visited the picturesque town with grand plans to distribute free groceries, rice, and cash. Spoiler alert: things didn’t go as planned.

The Arrival: Freebies and Fury

It started with the best intentions: Team Malakas rolled into Coron with a convoy of goodies. They were greeted with eager anticipation by the locals, who lined up for their promised share. But as the clock ticked and stomachs growled, the enthusiasm waned. An hour later, with nothing but promises to chew on, the mood turned sour.

Enter Jho Cayabyab Trinidad, a staff member at the Municipal Office, who took to social media to vent her frustrations. In a post that quickly went viral, Trinidad didn’t mince words:

“Dear Rosemar at Team Malakas, ginamit nyo lang mga taga Coron para sa mga vlog vlog nyo at socmed… Dismayado dahil naghintay sila ng isang oras at gutom… nagpa laro ng bring Me pustiso? Hindi nyo nga hinawakan?”

Yes, you read that right. Bring Me Dentures.

Rendon’s Rant and Rosmar’s Resignation

Naturally, Team Malakas didn’t take the criticism lying down. Rendon Labador, ever the fiery influencer, decided the best course of action was to confront Trinidad personally. Witnesses in the Mayor’s office were treated to a full display of Rendon’s, shall we say, assertive communication skills, which involved a lot of finger-pointing and shouting. Rosmar, meanwhile, turned to Facebook, posting a dramatic exit message: “Nakaka dala bumalik sa CORON, PALAWAN LAST NA TO DINA MAUULIT 💔💔💔.”

To add fuel to the fire, Rendon when challenged by Trinidad to a boxing match, did remove his clothes on the ready as recounted by Trinidad in her post. Talk about turning up the heat!

Persona Non Grata: The Aftermath

The fallout from this debacle was swift. The Sangguniang Bayan of Coron, in a move straight out of a reality TV show, drafted a resolution to declare Rendon and Rosmar persona non grata. The reasons? Disrespecting local staff, creating public unrest, and failing to deliver on their promises.

According to the resolution, Rendon’s actions were “disrespectful, inappropriate, and constituted a blatant disregard for proper decorum.” Not to mention, they violated Republic Act No. 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act. Ouch.

The Apology Tour

In the wake of the backlash, Rosmar took to social media again—this time to apologize. Sort of. She blamed her outburst on postpartum emotions: “Sorry kung nagkaganun reaction ko sadyang kakapanganak ko lang nadala lang ng emosyon Wala naman kami ginusto kundi makatulong lang [sic].”

The apology, however, was as clear as muddy water. She didn’t specify whether it was directed at Trinidad, the town of Coron, or the general state of affairs.

The Coron Comedy

What was meant to be a charitable visit turned into a comedy of errors that left the residents of Coron bemused and slightly hungry. Team Malakas might have had their hearts in the right place, but their execution was more “Loco” than “Malakas.”
