PH hailed as Asia’s Leading Dive Destination in 2023 by WTA

For the fifth consecutive year, the Philippines bested other destinations to put in the bag the title of 2023 Leading Dive Destination in Asia.

The awarding ceremony by the preeminent World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2023 was held at the GEM Center in Ho Chin Minh City in Vietnam.

This development was welcomed by the Department of Tourism with the Secretary of Tourism Secretary saying that this shows the Philippines commitment to sustainable tourism development and strengthened collaboration with tourism stakeholders.

Other notable awardees in the Philippines are Amanpulo being cited as the Leading Private Island Resort although lost to Vietnam’s Premier Residence Pau Quoc for Leading Villa Resort.

And in the best of the Philippines categories, Amanpulo won as the Leading Luxury Villa with its Amanpulo’s Four-Bedroom Villa and Leading Resort.

Also in the Philippines category, Cauayan Island Resort in El Nido also bag the Leading Private Island Resort.

Although the Philippines won the Leading Dive Destination in Asia, Indonesia and Singapore got the higher award as the Leading Beach Destination and Leading Island Destination titles, respectively.

The Philippines with the Department of Tourism is spearheading different programs in order to promote the country’s natural beauty and biodiversity.
