Ironman 70.3 is all set with Final Race Courses as well as Traffic Updates on November 13

There is no stopping Puerto Princesa from hosting Ironman 70.3 and the courses looks great with the lines and arrows (from the outlines). We can imagine the effort that these triathletes will have to exert to show the kind of Ironman that they are which will happen on November 13, thankfully a Sunday.

More than 1,300 triathletes from 26 different countries has signed up for the event with 891 joining in the grueling overall individual and age-group divisions. 162 entries listed for the relay competition along with 135 and 93 entries fro the women’s and men’s relay categories.

We can imagine the rolling countryside view that these athletes will immerse themselves as they engage in what could be a very strenuous physical activity only a few could endure.

Race starts at the Baywalk as they complete the 1.9 kilometer swimming loop in the Puerto Princesa bay.

After the arduous swim is the bike route which will start at the Baywalk and will lead them to a 90 kilometer route towards the Puerto Princesa South Road which is 3 loops.

The finish line awaits at the Ramon Mitra Jr. Sports Complex after a run course of 21 kilometers in 2 loops.

For this event which we hope will usher in a deluge of tourist to help revive the economy, there is some pain to be had with the local population.

As per announcement from the Puerto Princesa City Traffic Management Office the Road Clearing will start at 4:00am where the road will start to be cleared from vehicles and leading to a complete closure at 6:00am.

Take note that the images show Green Lines which means that vehicles are allowed to pass while Red Lines means that it is the Route of the Race and therefore vehicles are not allowed to pass.

This will be the situation in the Barangay San Pedro Area.

Roads will open at 4:00pm and that’s in the afternoon. So hold your activities until that time.

Despite the inconvenience, we congratulate everyone from the Puerto Princesa City Government and to the organizer Sunrise Events Inc. for bringing the IRONMAN to the Best Island in the World.
