Well-known, well-loved and well-traveled author Kevin Kwan confess his “love for Palawan” during the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit 2022 held last April 21-23, 2022 in Manila. Kwan was one of the speakers in the panel discussion, “Through the Lens”, tackling on tourism possibilities of the Philippines in this times of re-opening. (Kevin Kwan picture with local artists)

Kwan who is the author of book-turned-into-a-hit movie “Crazy Rich Asians” was accompanied by Hollywood producer Lawrence Bender and took pride of having the Philippines as his first trip overseas since the pandemic started. His fourth trip to the country is intended among others to be a tour guide for Bender to some of his favorite locations in the Philippines. This is when he profess his particular feeling of being “in love with Palawan”.

Indeed we followed his instagram account and Palawan he was headed particulary in Amanpulo. We are not stalking here but we feel a tinge of pride of the Singaporean born author of his impression of Palawan.

And there is more good news as the author is also scouting for possible locations for his screenplay for the sequel and third movie of the “Crazy Rich Asians” trilogy which is currently in production. Surely this will be a big promotion to the Philippines and Palawan as was observed when Asian movie locations had a bit increase in tourist visits since featured in the movie.

We are crossing our fingers and hoping that production and shoots will be made in Palawan.
