Reliving pre-pandemic food trips at Badjao Seafront Restaurant

The pandemic has brought a lot of restrictions and deprivations for the past two years or so. And it is such a happy moment that the thoughts of going to familiar places have been finally realized. Familiar is where you go when you need to go.

And to quench the longing for familiarity we decided to have lunch at Badjao Seafront Restaurant. We missed the place and to do justice we decided to take on the Seafood Platter which we believe is one of the best valued menu pound for pound.

This is merry mix of bounties of the sea. We first dove on the sea grapes which is fantastic. All the other pieces taste like they were just cooked very recently and so very fresh. No question at all about that.

The end of the bout was a clean slate or a clean plate and getting us ready to start all over again – or maybe next visit.

And we order sides and salads as well which was overshadowed by this main dish.

The food was fantastic but the mangrove walk transport us into a place of nature. And it is at this moment that we appreciate life and the world around us. We should keep and preserve this place for posterity. Its life breathing. And oh the choir of birds singing in different tunes as if it is a song and is really audible and close as if singing heal the world.

The gentle ocean breeze around Bancao-Bancao leaves a feeling of rejuvenation enough to revitalize oneself to face the new challenges of the future, hopefully without the pandemic this time.

The Restaurants is a classic and was founded in 1996 or now almost 26 years in existence. This place was part of the food tour of the once bustling tourism industry. For sure the years have seen the ups and downs, the mumble and tumble of the economy and the seeming adventures and misadventures of our time. And we see better times ahead.

They have all the other local favorite delicacies which will surely endear to the hearts and belly of its visitors whether foreign or domestic.

If lunch time is extraordinary, wait until the light in the sky is out and other lights come into play both natural and stars in the mangroves, we mean flash bulbs, which will surely take all your worries away.

Seafood Platter is only P1,150 and with all the seafood competing for space, it is such a great deal.
