Local food and Cafe put together in one location is actually possible. That is what Lato Lamang Dagat at Kape is trying to do and has succeeded. And there is no better place than to accentuate in this mix the fresh zypher of Puerto Bay at Baywalk.

Lato is the local dialect for seaweed which is readily available in the market. One has to eat it fresh otherwise its no fun and no taste at all. So the way Lato Restaurant is doing is have all their dishes cooked already and its some of the most sought after local dish so you already see what you are getting upon order. Seafood catch and vegetables during the day are cooked home style. And of course they heat it before being served to your delight.

Baywalk is located at Puerto Princesa Bay near the seaport and being one of the tour spots, the place is now getting a lot of visitors especially families and groups. Aside from the cool breeze of the bay, one can just sit and while away time perhaps accompanied with a book or a better half or kid or kids. There are bikes for rent for those who like to just cover a lot of ground or just give something to do for kids.

And the additional treat is restaurants lining up offering different kind of variations mainly with fresh seafood where you can point and choose and they do the grill for you. Some with combinations of boodle fight type where you select combinations. Lato is kind of unique in this case as you get to see what you choose already cooked.

Another thing that Lato stands out is the excellent coffee taste ranging from mocha, latte and other coffee favorites.

The latte art was well done as well as the taste. We ordered Vanilla Latte and Caramel Latte. And with the kind of view and breeze, its almost perfect.

Lato Restaurant is open from breakfast until late night or curfew. Worth the visit and the time…
